Предлагаю сравнить с "Возвращенным адом", моим любимым рассказом Грина (прочитайте, если вы не).
P.S. В этом же жанре есть What does it feel like to be unattractive and desired by none?, в которой интересный и довольно грустный первый комментарий написан от лица мужчины ростом метр 53 сантиметра. - Интересная запись о том, считать ли атомы реально существующими, или полезной моделью, и что этот вопрос означает. Некоторые примеры спорны; в конце автор предлагает по-моему очень интересную практическую интерпретацию понятия "реальное существование".
